Sara Harvey
FEATURED August 2009
Well… my name is Sara Harvey and I am a Graphic Designer and Illustrator but I have always enjoyed every aspect of art and creating so if I’m not designing or drawing you can probably find me making something because it is truly what keeps me sane. I’ve always been draw to art and knew when I was 6 that that was what I was going to do when I grew up. There was a brief time around the age of 8 or 9 that I wanted to be a clown in the circus but that was a very short lived dream and clowns are kind of creepy. It’s hard to say I have one specific style of art because I love so many different things and have done so many different styles. Color and subject matter are always important to me regardless of what style I have. Currently a lot of my personal work is hand drawn and then digitally altered because I love that I have a undo button when working on the computer. I still really love to paint and hope to get back to doing that more again.
Sunday Brunch, to me, means I’m probably going to be taking a really nice nap later from all the great food I just ate.
I have a lot of favorite designers so it’s very hard for me to pick one and I am always finding new artists that I love and inspire me. My favorites are always changing, I wish I could pick just one. Currently I really love Mar Hernandez and Jennifer Davis. Both have styles and colors I love and they are both really wonderfully nice people.
As you can probably imagine, just like everything else in my life, that it’s hard for me to pick my favorite dress. I love clothing that is unique and fun. I’m always on the hunt for cute clothing that is also comfortable and practical for me. Some of my favorite dresses at the moment are more like what my drawing of the little girls wear. If it has cute buttons, ruffles, bows or patterns I’m all over it. I am absolutely in love with the dresses on Sunday Brunch, what amazing designs!
Everything inspires me. The good and the bad in the world. I absorb everything around me like a sponge and that stuff always comes out someplace in my artwork. Color would have to be one of the biggest things that gives me inspiration. I don’t know what it is about color but different combination can produce so much emotion.
