Oh, Sandy

M and I are down in zone A, the evacuation zone. But we decided to stay along with our building staff and 12 other units in the building. The elevators are shut down, hot water is out and we’re crossing our fingers that they don’t turn off electricity because that means water pumps are out, too. So far the rain hasn’t started yet and the leaves on the trees are barely stirring outside. Does that make me more or less nervous? But it is nice to have M stay home to do work for once (which is good because he will need to walk down 18 flights of stairs with 2 dogs to take them out to pee!) seeing as how public transit has also been shut down.

Apparently Battery Park City waters have already started to rise…

Taken before 9am this morning by ABC 7. Looking good, Stacey Sager!

I’ve got all our pots filled with water and I’m cooking as much food as possible just in case.

Stay safe everyone!
