Eveline Tarunadjaja

FEATURED February 2009

Eveline Taunadjaja was born and raised in Indonesia among the high rise shopping malls and spicy food. She moved to Melbourne, Australia almost 10 years ago and found her home in good coffee shops around the city to draw sugary and mischievous imagery inspired by her love for stories, Asian family, 60′s japanese girl group and giraffes with the amount of hairy details that would break her neck someday.

Sunday Brunch for Eveline means being lazy, drinking coffee, having close friends around, eating good food and people watching. She loves Abigail Lorick. Her collections are classic and very lady like, with a hint of quirk and child-like naivety. But like us all, Eveline admires from afar until she can save up for a dress (Eveline, aren’t you glad you know me now??).

Eveline’s favorite dress is currently a sheen black dress with tiny pleats at the front and back because she can wear it when she’s feeling lazy, or she can dress it up because it’s loose fitting! Bring on seconds. Eveline finds inspiration in music, her readings, friends, walking around the city, watching people or films. “I know it is very generic, but I tend to find inspiration when I don’t look for it and get inspired by almost anything that ‘moves’ me, anything that makes me laugh or cry – even if it’s something small.”
