Capsule tradeshow is becoming the hubub of small cool designers. It’s terribly abandoned on the outside, painfully hip and well dressed inside. Love this show.

Sleeping with the enemy

Sock Monkey, I despise you. Your beady eyes, your slappy limbs, your red target bottom. When I see you, flopping about, teasing me, I see red. I attack! I chew and snort and rip holes into your squishy body. I pull out your cotton innards. Then the anger subsides. I realize you smell pretty good and I kinda like your silly arms and legs. I feel remorse. Mom patches you up. She’s good like that. After all this carnage, I’m exhausted. I climb into bed, and there you are. You’re always there for me, Sock Monkey. I love you.

A Googly Valentine’s Day

I made M an eggy breakfast and we had our first meal at our new dining table this morning. The beast (the table, not M) is 500 lbs of woody goodness. The 2 not that big men moving the table had a lot of attitude and eye rolling and passive aggressive comments to give as they not so carefully got it into the apt. But I guess having just broken the building’s front door (and getting in trouble with their boss), delayed an hour as a result and only provided a 2 square foot dolly to move said beast, I guess a little ‘tude was in order. But the table is awesome and takes up the whole living room. Pictures to come.

It’s Valentine’s Day, the much hated holiday about love. But why people?? So what if it’s kind of a made up holiday, what’s not these days? It is what you make it. Google’s homepage made me smile into my warm mug of decaf (uuugh don’t even get me started)…if you haven’t seen it: 1) how is that possible? 2) see it now!

Today’s not about presents and chocolates and flowers, unless you want it to be. It’s about jumping rope with your special someone because you know they like to jump rope.
